Where She's Been; Where She's Heading!

(Michaele),
Alyras is a highly gifted, highly talented, high achiever. Alyras' musical life began at age two, when her mother discovered that she could contrapuntally improvise on the piano--in harmony. By age 16, she had learned to play 16 musical instruments. Among many other accomplishments, Alyras has
  • led, and started several bands, as well as a jazz chamber orchestra;
  • experienced acting, and performing success in Seattle, and San Francisco, and
  • recording, producing, and publishing success in Los Angeles;
  • translated, (and developed software embodying translations of) the Mayan Sacred Calendar (Tzolkin) into sound, and light;
  • (composing for Faith West/Moderati); she enjoyed having many of her MIDI-composed ringtones rated as the best in the world,
  • became an audio editor with a reputation in San Francisco for doing what other audio editors say is "impossible"; became a talented producer, and
  • music director,
  • a multilingual vocalist, (a vocalist who is exceptional in jazz improv, and who may sing a spirit from life, into Death),
  • an ordained minister/cleric,
  • spiritual counselor, and, eventually,
  • a highly, and diversely skilled Silicon Valley "techie".

With a vocal range of more than 4 octaves, and having performed all instruments on nearly all of her recordings, since the age of 17, she has spent most of her career as a self-contained artist; regardless of the genre in which she has chosen to perform. Nonetheless, she has also collaborated, and worked with several great minds, artists, and musicians, including Warren Giancatarino, Jeff Rona, Don Freeman, Al Collins, Philip Woo, Michael Carlson, Lenny Kravitz, Masayuki Koga, Melissa (Missy) Weaver, John Duykers, Avelina Brown-Nuñez,
Brian Avnet, Richard Rudolph, George Murphy, Susan Elizabeth Bohlin, Katastrophe, Amanda Moody, Clark Suprynowicz, Gwen Avery, George Coates, Angel Kwan Yin, Robert Morgan, Patricia Lynnecheyenne Tinker, Ashley Wai'olu Moore, Kathleen McGuire, Vonette Yanaginuma, Stevie Bensusen, Glen Valez, Melissa Morgan, Denny Carlson, Norman Dozier, Jeffrey Chin, and San Francisco's OmniCircus, and Transcendence Gospel Choir.

In 2008, building on her experience as a MCA/Universal recording artist, and co-publisher, Alyras established Art of Pop to be a corporate container, and delivery channel for her diverse creative, and inspirational works, and services. As one of San Francisco's most dynamic transgender artists, and a CIIS certified practitioner of Sound, Voice, and Music in the Healing Arts, Alyras is currently preparing novel Nova Bossa Nova show, ("Conversations With Spirit On Jobim"), in which she performs both original jazz works, and sound healing expressions. Art of Pop is also in the early stages of publishing the Tao Te Ching in the Elvish language, Quenya--excellently translated by New Zealand's, Rodger Francis Ashton-Smith. If that's not enough, she is also advancing a tech startup called, "DreAM".

Art of Pop is busy. Stay tuned!!

Note:
If you used the EPK link to reach this page, the Electronic Press Kit is temporarily offline, due to a principal change of the artist's direction.
